Beside stopping pucks and being one of the best goalies in the league, New York Rangers’ Henrik Lundqvist is also an expert in style–he’s featured in GQ’s 20 Most Stylish Athletes of 2013. Lundqvist earned the third spot in the list (and the honor as the only NHLer chosen), following GQ’s number one stylish guy Lebron James and number two–Victor Cruz. The magazine notes the 31-year-old Swede’s impeccable wardrobe choices (i.e. Calvin Klein, Hugo Boss) as well as his infamous hair as reasons why he’s in the top three.
Lundqvist, who has played in over 500 games throughout his nine seasons (all with the Rangers), also recently signed a seven-year $59.5 million extension with the team. This means he will be raking in about $8.5 million a year. He is now the fifth highest paid player in the NHL (but the highest paid goalie), following Alexander Ovechkin (13 yr./$124 million), Sidney Crosby (12 yr./$104.4 million), Evgeni Malkin (8 yr./$76 million) and Corey Perry (8 yr/$69 million).
Stay stylish, King Lundqvist.
